Matakohe Bridge

Located in Northland, the Matakohe Bridge was delivered as part of the Government’s Northland Bridges Programme, replacing ageing infrastructure with a modern two-lane crossing designed to improve safety, resilience and regional connectivity.

The project required reinforcing steel for the new bridge structure, supporting key structural elements including the bridge deck and associated concrete works. Careful fabrication, supply and coordination were essential to maintaining efficient delivery throughout the construction programme.

The completed Matakohe Bridge demonstrates the important role of quality reinforcing steel, specialist fabrication and effective project coordination in delivering significant civil infrastructure designed for long-term structural performance.
